Gift Guide 2015: Your Lovely + Supportive Mom

December 1, 2015

Her voice on the other end of the phone is one of your favourite things, and her presence still feels like home. She’s kind, smart, and always there for you. Plus, she’s fun to grab a drink with, too.

01. J.Crew PJs $78 | Because she looks adorable in pretty pjs, and she likes to be cozy.

02. Kaico Kettle $116 | A stylish kettle for a stylish lady.

03. Williams Sonoma Rolling Pin $30 | This seems like something my favourite movie mom would have in her pretty kitchen. And now yours will, too.

04. Catbird Earrings $260 | How pretty would these look with an easy bun and a denim dress?

05. Kit + Forage Jug $16 | This little vintage jug would fit in perfectly on her kitchen counter.

06. J.Crew Sweater $110 | A classic piece she’ll wear all the time.

A Small Space Christmas Tree

We don’t all have a ton of space for a tree, but there are lots of options for small space decorations. I was looking for something different for the tree this year, and came across a few pretty options here and here. The best part about this little setup? Our apartment smells nice and Christmas-y.

I bought a bundle of cedar branches, but you could use pine or something similar. Just cut them into descending lengths and tack them up on the wall. Tie up and hang your ornaments with twine.

I tucked sprigs of baby’s breath into the branches, for a bit of extra detail.

Are you sticking with a regular tree? Or are you trying something different like this? I’d love to see what you come up with!

(Ornaments from Michaels and CB2).

I’m thankful for you!

October 10, 2015

Happy weekend! It’s Thanksgiving here in Canada, and I’m spending a very rainy day inside with the family. To celebrate this lovely long weekend, I wanted to say thanks to you guys. I’m so grateful for the friendships I’ve made online. So many creative, kind people working together.

So to say thanks, here’s a $10 credit to the shop (use code THANKSTOYOU).

Here are some of my favourite pieces at the moment (aka – the stuff I almost hoarded for myself), if you’re in the mood for some shopping:

If there’s something you’ve been eying, hop on over and treat yourself! If I had a brick and mortar shop, I would also pour you a cup of tea (or a mimosa) and say thanks for being so awesome.

Have a lovely weekend!

(The $10 credit is valid until 11:59pm on Tuesday, October 13).

An Airy, Midcentury Retreat

August 19, 2015

With the launch of Kit + Forage, I’m starting to take on some interior styling projects. This mood board is for a bedroom that just needs a little spruce up. It already has neutral walls and pretty wood floors, so this project is all about taking it to the next level and adding those extra, personalized touches.

We’ll be working with some of the items that are already in the space, but giving them new life. Here’s a little breakdown of the plan:

  1. Add Rifle Paper Co. wallpaper to one big wall.
  2. Paint the existing dresser white and add new hardware (pull and knob).
  3. Add some glamour to these end tables with a 5 minute Ikea hack.
  4. Swap out the hanging light fixture for an updated matte black option (this one has a gold underside!).
  5. Pair the space down with fluffy white bedding and some neutral accessories.
  6. Add some pattern and colour with throws and pillows (light blue pillow and dark blue pillow).

Can’t wait to share more glimpses as the space develops! Keep your eye on Instagram for updates :)

And if you need a hand pulling your space together, I offer both in-person styling and e-design. Send me an email — I’d love to work with you!
